FAFSA

What role does FAFSA play in determining financial aid? What kind of financial aid can one be awarded through it? Should I fill one out even if don't think I'll need or qualify for financial aid?

The FAFSA is the single most important form to fill out. Even if you think you qualify for nothing it is beneficial to complete your FAFSA.

FAFSA- (Free Application for Federal Student Aid ) is a financial aid from the government side for both graduate and undergraduate students. The students needs to be filled out the form annually in order to avail the benefit of this aid. And FAFSA is used to determine the expected family contribution based on family financial information.

So does this mean that if I take out a subsidized loan, I will have to start paying it off as soon as I graduate?

Hello pahern15,

Not exactly. The new financial aid update states that the interest rate will no longer be subsidized during the grace period, meaning that interest will be added onto your account during the grace period, but you will still not have to make your first payment until the end of the 6 month grace period.
