Paying for college

Paying for college

Postby shial6 on Tue May 25, 2010 5:06 pm

I have been accepted to the University of New Haven, and I have received the financial award but the award doesn't cover everything. I need about 13,000 more. I am applying to as many scholarships that are right for me, but i haven't heard back from any of them. I even am trying the scholarship points website and entering points into the June 10,000 scholarship. So I'm not sure if ill be able to get all the money i need. So i am confused about if ill be let in the school when I don't have all the money yet, and I don't know if I should pay the entrance fee. I just am very confused about where I will be in the fall.

well Congrats with being Accepted into New Haven ! =D

I dont know much about paying for college but my advice to you is to just continue
applying for scholarships as much as possible. I'm also using Scholarship points, and
Ive enter into the June 10,00 scholarship. But you needing $13,000 for college you surely need it
lol because thats alot! Goodluck to you w/ that, but dont give up with finding a way to cover it yet.
You never know :)

Also whats your time limit
for paying all of that money before fall?

Im not even sure. I recently sent the school an appeal for more aid in my financial aid award, so im just waiting to hear back from them. The school sent me a bill of what needs to be paid, so im guessing as soon as possible. But im going to send the school and email explaining the sitaution today and see what happens. Hoepfully i get what I need.

Scholarships are better solution to meet the financial needs for college studies. It is not easy to win a scholarship.Your efforts lead you to the scholarships.
Most of the students have to replace scholarships for educational loans.
Wish you all the best.

Good for you appealing your aid!!! Just read up on that - something not all students know how to do :D

Actually this post covers sending in the deposit too http://blog.howtogetin.com/paying-for-college/financial-aid/evaluating-your-financial-aid/

@shial6 I wish I knew how it turned out!!! I have heard a lot of people speculate about when to send in a deposit and if it will change whether or not you can appeal aid or not. Let me know if anyone has experience with this...
